From my engagement session with Sam & Matt in one of the secret parts of Central Park.

Previous: That’s it for Paris! I’ve been posting these pictures since July 13th, hahahahaha. I’ll bet you thought they’d never end. Well, sorry, but Paris was the time of my LIFE. I’ve been dreaming of going ever since I ate my first three-Michelin-starred tasting menu, and the NYC obsession with French macarons only made it worse. Have you heard of “Paris syndrome”, the heartbreak people feel when they finally visit the city and find out it’s not what they imagined? I experienced the opposite of that. Paris was EVERYTHING I thought it would be and more. The culture was so intensely concentrated; everything was SO FRENCH. The architecture was all so beautiful, and because all of the buildings are so short, everywhere felt cozy and quaint despite being a huge, sprawling city. We walked almost everywhere but found their subway system much nicer than the NYC one when we used it. (Although I contend that the Paris Metro is more confusing.) We loved the cafe culture, the way every restaurant had sidewalk seating where the chairs faced outward so you could drink your Aperol spritz and people-watch. And the people! We literally experienced ONE case of French snobbery that I can remember, and this is with us speaking exactly two lines of French, which were “hello” and “do you speak English?” And we even pronounced those really poorly! I came back from Paris so renewed. I felt refreshed, happier, and just so in love with the City of Light and with a new appreciation for the differences in my own city!
