We ate dinner at Gospoda pod Kogutem, a favorite of my boyfriend’s family with good traditional food even though it’s in the more touristy part of Warsaw. I had bigos, or hunter’s stew, which is like sauerkraut cooked in red wine with hunks of meat chopped into it. (This was actually the first Polish food I ever fell in love with here in NYC, so it was neat to eat it in Poland.) My boyfriend’s dad, meanwhile, had this tasty pork knuckle.
