Our second day in Poland, we went with my boyfriend’s parents to their family’s country home in a little town called Sucha, an hour east of Warsaw. It’s kind of a huge estate filled with historic manor houses from aristocratic Polish families dating back hundreds of years that the family keeps furnished with antiquities from the time so the public can view the houses as they would have been. My boyfriend’s uncle disassembles manor houses where he finds them, moves them to the estate, and reassembles them piece-by-piece. The grounds include gardens, a pond, and horses that are free to run wild. I grew up on a farm but still feel a little jealous that my boyfriend got to spend his summers here!
