More from The Pool, the fish-centric part of the former Four Seasons restaurant that @majorfoodgroup has remade. Our captain told us that the original restaurant was from 1959, and it’s famous to me, of course, as the location of @bethennyfrankel’s wedding. There really is a pool in the room, and you really can take a dip in it after three carrot-flavored cocktails. JUST KIDDING. The Pool is beautiful, though, from the 2) hand-painted sea-themed plates to the gorgeous cocktails: 3) cinnamon with extra añejo tequila and grapefruit, 4) mango with bourbon, aperol, and vanilla, and carrot with reposado tequila, cumin, and mezcal, and 5) pear with cachaça, ginger, and lime. The meal finishes with housemade caramels, and little treats at the end are my favorite part of fine dining. The food was very, very delicious, very small, and also very expensive. Three of us spent $600, which is not unusual for us, but that’s usually when we’ve done many-course tasting menus! It’s definitely an experience, though.
