The next morning, we took the train to Versailles to spend the day wandering the extensive, I mean EXTENSIVE, grounds originally built on by Louis XIII in 1623 and then made into a palace by Louis XIV starting in 1661. It was a dark and gloomy day, perfect for imagining the French royals being forced from the palace during the Revolution.
