When someone told us there was a legit Egyptian temple in Madrid, I was like, “Cool, yeah, and the Disneyland castle is really from old-timey Germany.” But it turns out it’s true! Egypt actually took apart the Temple of Debod, built in the 2nd century BC, and gifted it to Spain as thanks for helping UNESCO save some other temples in Egypt. Nice job, Spain!
